Prime Planet Energy & Solutions, Inc.(PPES) is pleased to announce that it will further expand production of prismatic lithium-ion batteries for electrified vehicles both domestically and at its China production center. To this end, PPES will establish new battery production lines at its existing domestic facilities (Himeji, Japan) and its Prime Planet Energy Dalian Co., Ltd. (PPEDL; Dalian, China) facilities.

Electrification of automobiles is a must in realizing a carbon-neutral society, and the global electrified vehicle market is expected to continue growing rapidly. This expansion in production capability is a step that allows PPES to handle the growing demand of prismatic lithium-ion batteries for electrified vehicles.

PPES will continue to contribute to the electrification of mobility applications as part of its duty in ensuring a clean and sustainable future for earth and society.

Overview of the newly established production lines:

1.PPES Himeji Facility

• Location: 1-6 Megahidacho, Shikama-ku, Himeji, Hyogo
• Product Line: Automotive prismatic lithium-ion batteries for battery electric vehicles (BEV)
• Start of Production: Planned from 2021, gradually expanding production levels
• Production capacity: Expected to further supply approximately 80,000 BEVs per year

2.PPEDL Dalian Facility

• Location: Dalian, Liaoning, The People's Republic of China
• Product Line: Automotive prismatic lithium-ion batteries for hybrid electric vehicles (HEV)
• Start of Production: Planned from 2021, gradually expanding production levels
• Production capacity: Expected to further supply approximately 400,000 HEVs per year
