In this situation, the significance of batteries is growing in a number of fields for the electrification of mobility, for energy-saving power controls, and even as vital infrastructure in the event of natural disasters. We need to resolve these issues and enrich our lives to pass on a sustainable world to the next generations. Battery technologies can be the motive force that plays a central role in realizing this objective.

The name of the company, Prime Planet Energy & Solutions, was chosen to illustrate our desire to both provide batteries and to offer a wide range of added value and solutions based on these vital energy devices for the sake of protecting the environment and abundance of our precious planet.

We combine the supremely safe, high-quality, and reliable automotive battery technologies of Panasonic Corporation, the leading vehicle electrification and advanced battery development capabilities of Toyota Motor Corporation, practical manufacturing(Monozukuri) know-how in a sophisticated and cutting-edge company. Together, we will continue providing all our customers with the widest range of new value for an ever-more prosperous future.

ESTABLISHMENT History of Prime Planet Energy & Solutions

Toyota Motor Corporation and Panasonic Corporation agree to start studying the feasibility of a joint automotive prismatic battery business.
The two companies came to the shared realization that the popularization of electrified vehicles would be necessary to help address pressing social issues such as global warming, air pollution, the depletion of natural resources, and energy security, and that meeting customer demand and expectations around the world for electrified vehicles would help to realize a more sustainable society. Therefore, it was agreed to begin meaningful studies into the feasibility of achieving further advances in core automotive battery technologies and ensuring stable battery supplies.
Toyota Motor Corporation and Panasonic Corporation agree to establish a joint venture company specializing in automotive prismatic batteries.
