Membership in the Battery Association for Supply Chain (BASC)

We have been a founding member of the Battery Association for Supply Chain (BASC), a general incorporated association established in 2021 with the aim of developing a sustainable battery supply chain and contributing to the battery industry in Japan and around the world.

We actively participate in BASC’s wide-ranging initiatives and strive to take responsible actions across all processes of the supply chain. Through these efforts, we aim to enhance the credibility of the industry and ensure appropriate responses to international regulations and standards. Furthermore, we promote collaboration and information sharing with other member companies to support the sound and sustainable growth of the entire battery supply chain.

Our Involvement in BASC Activities

Initiatives for Battery Human Resource Development

Developing talent to support the growth of the battery industry is one of the key challenges in achieving a sustainable society. The "Battery Industry Strategy," jointly formulated by the government and industry, sets forth a goal to establish 150 GWh of manufacturing capacity in Japan by 2030 and to develop and secure approximately 30,000 skilled professionals across the entire battery supply chain.

To contribute to this goal, the Kansai Battery Human Resource Development Consortium—a collaboration among academia, industry, and government—was established in the Kansai region (organized by the Kinki Bureau of Economy, Trade and Industry, the Battery Association of Japan, and BASC). PPES is an active member of this consortium. Our company is actively involved in initiatives for the next generation, such as the development of educational programs and materials, and the formulation of battery-related skill sets.

Additionally, from April to July 2025, our company served multiple times as a lecturer in a collaborative course titled "Introduction to Battery Engineering: Envisioning the Future of Japan’s Battery Industry", jointly held by Waseda University and BASC. This course provides a comprehensive curriculum covering foundational to cutting-edge battery technologies, industry structures, and business domains, aiming to foster the next generation of leaders in the battery industry.

We will continue to actively engage in initiatives such as human resource development to support the sustainable growth of the battery industry and to address social challenges.

Support for Participation in CEATEC 2024

As the foundation for future digital innovation and a vital component of social infrastructure, the importance of the battery supply chain continues to grow. Against this backdrop, BASC exhibited for the first time at CEATEC (Combined Exhibition of Advanced Technologies) 2024.

PPES supported this initiative and will continue to contribute to raising awareness of the battery industry’s value and advancing efforts toward a sustainable future.
